ECE-151 Got the Magic!

Winning the Cheers and Chants Competition is like a magic, unbelievable. Yeah, I never thought that we could win because we lacked of time to practice and when we plan to practice, not all of us attend. Aside from that, almost all of our competitors are taking Multimedia and Arts (ABMA) and ABMA students are known in winning in these kinds of contests because as we all know, they are creative, imaginative and productive. They're really a threat to us, but it doesn't mean that we have to be discouraged. We used it as a challenge instead. I'm glad 'cause because of that challenge, our brains worked hard to come up songs and chants. In a short period of time, we became composers and musical directors, really funny. Our adviser, Ms. Nina Javier was a great help too. She was with us in our every practice. She checked if we have synchronized moves, if our voices are loud and clear, and many more. So I'd like to use this blog of mine to thanks Ms. Nina. Without her, we wouldn't be magical as we want to be.
The day of the competition came... We arrived in the school early to have our final practice. Thankfully, all of us went early and our practice went well. Hours later, we had received a notice to go to the auditorium, where we'll perform. At first I did not feel nervous, 'cause I really thought that what we are about to present is really good and our costumes are really nice, we had t-shirts printed uniformly and also had metallic foils in our wrist which made us look like superheroes. "A piece of cake", I told myself. The moment we entered the auditorium, the piece of cake was crashed. We're not the only one who got printed t-shirts. Some had make up on their faces, some of them got cool props, and above all, almost all of them are plenty in terms of members. We're only 20! Jeez! "How can we defeat them?" I asked myself. Still, we walked to our assigned seats with our chins up.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you to SOE and SOMA Cheer and Chants Competition", announced by Mr. Nomer Yuzon, host of the said event. Our hearts were like drums hit 100x per second. That became 1000x when Sir Yuzon announced that we are going to perform last. And... the contest started. First to perform was ABMA 151. T_T They're many. It'll be easy for them, they don't need to shout anymore. Their performance was good and so as the rest of the ABMA sections. The section. The section that made our heads bald was the CPE-151. That is because they had thisgimmick of turning the lights off and all we saw are their hands floating in the air and also, they had cool costumes are props, they were really amazing. They got a big chance of winning. After them, it's us who performed next. A mixture of excitement and nervousness filled my body. Before we go in the stage, our adviser reminded us to louden our voices. When we stepped on the stage, we did nothing but to shout our thing. Our moves though not really synchronized amazed the audience. I admit, our performance was not perfect but I believe it was the best. I guess, that's the reason why we won. Maybe the judges saw the heart we put in our performance. We really thought that CPE will win, instead they won 2nd place. I guess there are things that made us stood out. Still, all of our competitors did great.
I wonder, will we also be successful in Speech Choir Contest? That's what we are going to find out.
